Based on the manga and anime series by the same name, "Recca" is an extremely rare entry in the GBA's fighting lineup. Starting with 5 characters, the first feature you want to try is the Story Mode, where you unlock everything else. But when the smoke clears you get nothing more than a Free Battle Mode, a Survival Mode, a sound gallery and character profiles, which is great if you're fluent in Japanese.
"Recca's" controls are actually pretty simple. You throw fireballs with one button, do melee combos with another, power up while you squat and perform supers while you block. Though you use each character exactly the same way, it's worth checking out the different effects of each moveset. Overall, this little game should be a big draw for "Recca" fans. This makes me want to check out the manga and anime.
This game is unrated: Violence.

Very Unique 'Fighting' Game that deserves recognition.
It's not your traditional fighting game, so this might not appeal to hardcore 2d fighting gamers. Instead, it uses animation for battles, like playing out an anime. Though this might seem to turn you off, it does have a pretty technical battle system, very unique and difficult. Their are quit a bit of characters too, over 20. The animation is superb, and it's more strategy driven than most fighters. Like any type of fighters, replay value is high with many friends playing with you. If you can still find this gem, get it, totally worth it.
