Some people find the meaning of their lives in battles, some people would rather die than perpetuate violence. The invasion of the aliens continues in the video game-like world of Gantz Perfect Answer. Due to a moment of hesitation in the heat of a battle, Kato dies. To revive him, Kurono has to score a hundred points.

The "graduated" members such as Ayukawa come back to aid Kurono's cause. Everything seems smooth until the ultimate enemy and a mysterious man appear. Thrilling fight scenes, non-stop action and a cast of famous actors such as Ninomiya Kazunari (Letter from Iwoshima) and Matsuyama Kenichi (Death Note), Perfect Answer plunges viewers deeper into the ruthless world where winning means everything.

Gantz, but not as we know it
Unlike the first part of this live action version of Gantz, The Perfect Answer departs from the storyline established in the original manga. However, the change is understandable since this two part story needs to have a conclusion unlike the still-ongoing manga. Nevertheless the change is well within the spirit of the manga and in many ways is better than the first Gantz live action film. The action sequences here are exciting and well-paced while the story takes some interesting twists and turns while melding some major storylines from the manga. Overall a great film. By the way, I watched the English subbed version on a plane to Tokyo. Too bad this Blu-ray does not have English subtitles as an option
