description

Gintama: Yorozuya Daisodou is a game set up much like WarioWare: Touched! in the fact that you play mini-games completely to advance. You can play as either Gintoki, Kagura, or Shinpachi, the three main characters of the anime/manga series Gintama that this game is based off of. You go into town with your selected character and talk to various townspeople, looking for an oddball job to make some cash! The main objective of the game? PAY YOUR RENT.Complete silly side jobs like weeding the neighbor's yard, buying mayonnaise for a cloaked figure, finding a lost cat, or defeating an alien octopus-- all in a day's work, at the Yorozuya! Sounds easy to make money, right? Now it's time to count in the fact that you can gamble away all your riches at pachinko, or furbish your house in favor of the rent!Just don't run into those pesky Shinsengumi, or you'll get chased all over town!

Frustrating and Awkward
The graphics are adorable and well-done, and in general the game's visual appeal is high, but the game itself is very poorly-realised. It is controlled only with the stylus, which seems exciting and novel until you actually try to use it. There are games that use the stylus effectively. This isn't one of them. None of the buttons do anything, which is a huge mistake; some people simply prefer a more traditional control in action sequences, and here it would be incredibly welcome.

Most of the minigames are so ridiculously difficult, even at the lowest level, that they are incredibly frustrating. In this way, the game attempts to make itself have longevity, but all it does is frustrate the player and drive him to avoid those mini-games. Most of the other mini-games are just dull, or there isn't enough reason to do them.

The player must also essentially babysit Gintoki and his friends, making sure they pick up their place, take out the trash, and do the shopping. This may be appealing for those who don't have to do this themselves, but for someone who does, it's just a chore in game form. You can also switch to other characters freely, but ironically, their lack of interactivity makes it largely unappealing and pointless.

The little details are charming, and it is nice to be able to explore the world of Gintama. In a way, it's a little enchanting to do things like errands and shopping, to be able to go to the pachinko hall, and so forth. But there isn't a vast variety of the things available to do, and it's a pity that so many of them are not fun or entertaining at all. Most of those same little details are similarly pointless and serve no purpose in the game whatsoever.

It was an ambitious goal the development team obviously had, but they didn't come close to realising it. This game could only be satisfying for a fan who felt compelled to own everything related to the series.

No title
Good fun for fans of the anime, it's basically yet another mini-game collection, but they're pretty well done. There are a few side scrolling combat stages (everything is controlled with the stylus).

You can walk around the town and explore a bit, visit shops, a casino that includes fully featured slot machines, pachinko and some card game.

Looooots of text, but it's very easy to play.
