description

In the near future, the earth is plagued by altered beasts known as Aragami. Just when all was thought to be lost, a biochemical corporation called Fenrir created the God Arc, the only weapon capable of killing the Aragami. In GOD EATER the player is a new member of an elite force created to wield the God Arc and crush the hostile gods. Your mission is to defeat the Aragami and gather material from them for research, but you come to realize that you are being drawn in to a giant conspiracy that will irreversibly alter the fate of humanity…

GOD EATER BURST is the enhanced version of the PSP hit GOD EATER (released in 2009) which has sold over 600,000 units in Japan to date. In response to the requests of fans and European gamers who have been eagerly awaiting the game’s PAL release, NAMCO will launch the reworked game with new content, skills, abilities and AI.

Not a MH clone
many comments said GEB is a clone of MHP3. However, they are different in many ways. Put it simply, if you want more entertainment and less frustration, go for GEB. GEB has a better monster database, more smooth gameplay and less buggy than MHP3. The community wiki(Japan language) of GEB is better written than MHP3.
Do note that the GEB version of this "Best" version is actually 1.00, you will need to update it to 1.01 via PS store, and to use PS store, you may need to update your firmware.

Great game
This is a great title. It plays somewhere between Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy Dissidia and other similar hack and slash games. The combination of fast paced sword play with shooting elements is relatively well done, although shooting is mostly useful for laying down a barrage on the enemy monsters rather than using as a primary weapon. Characters are well fleshed out, and the plot leaves you wondering what will happen next, while wondering how much of it is trying to trick you into thinking the outcome will be something entirely different. This blend of sci-fi with character development and some mystery keeps the player interested.

The English translation is basically the US version. The problems with the US translation is that it is very male-centric (female player characters still get called "he", not "she" or even "they") in main cutscenes, but otherwise in non-voiced dialogue the translation is fairly well done. Despite its flaws, the English version is probably better for English speakers than Japanese, even if you really want Japanese voice actors, since there is so much in the plot that you won't understand otherwise and it will take away from the value of the game, which can get hard if you're not paying attention to what you're meant to be doing in missions.

Gods Eater Burst
This is an updated version of God Eater(released only in Japan) which was interesting but plagued with clumsy game-play.
Namco utilized gamers feedback and refined its gameplay on GEB.
There wasn't any English version of GE, but if you like fast-moving hunting-game, you'll love this GEB with smart NPC's and refined gameplay like burst-mode.
For Japanese gamers:
If you've played GEB(JPN ver.), you'll enjoy this English ver. too. Since the characters speak quite a lot in this GEB, the inserted videos are quite enjoyable in English.
But just one warning:
Some of the names of the items and so on in English are rather hard to be identified with.
