Gran Turismo 4 Prologue confirmed to be Asian exclusive - additional details revealed

As we have expected, Sony has now confirmed their upcoming Gran Turismo 4 Prologue to be an Asian exclusive release, which means the Prologue version of Sony's highly awaited Gran Turismo 4 racing simulation will only be available as Japanese and Asian release version.

Further, some more additional details were finally revealed:

The Prologue Edition will feature five courses - New York, the Grand Canyon, an Italian town, and Japan's Fuji Speedway and Tsukuba Circuit - which were also already seen in previous demos of Gran Turismo 4. The New York course will be centered on Times Square, while the Fuji Speedway will be a reproduction of the real course before it underwent massive remodeling. Even though the Tsukuba Circuit is well-known in Japan, this will be the first time that the course will be included in the GT series. About 50 cars will be selectable in the Prologue Edition which, while a vast selection for a racing game, is still small when considering that the final GT4 will feature over 500 vehicles.

Gran Turismo 4 Prologue will supports the new GT Force Pro steering wheel, an enhanced version of Logicool's force feedback racing controller. The Prologue will support online battle modes, this will become available in the final release of GT4 only.

Gran Turismo 4 Prologue is shipping on December 4th, preorders are still open at US$ 34.90 only. Additionally, Sony will release a Gran Turismo 4 Prologue + GT Force PRO bundle on the same day, preorders for this set are priced at US$ 189 respectively.

Preorders for the final release of Gran Turismo 4 are accepted at US$ 59.90 with a yet unconfirmed release date in early 2004.

Last but not least, as a small sidenote, we have further restocked the Korean release of Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo - Seoul. In stock and shipping at US$ 34.90 only.
