Item Description

Harvest Moon went through several phases ever since it was first released. To celebrate the series' 15th anniversary, the Tokuma Print Press is releasing the Hajimari no Daichi art book. Flip through it to find your plot of land, the crops you have planted, the animals you reared on your farm and meet the many bachelor and bachelorettes who vied for your hand in marriage throughout the years. See the different additions that went into the series. Besides character illustrations, the book also comes with the drawings in the Official Guide Book, released by Shogakukan, and collects all the pictures posted in the magazines. Those who wants to look beyond the farm, take a peek at the preliminary sketches and other game settings information.

Great for Harvest Moon fans! Not great if you were expecting a lot of new content!
Most of the artwork featured was work already widely spread via the internet, but there's still quite a bit of new content. If you're a true blue Harvest Moon fan, this is definitely worth the buy to have it all the resources at your fingertips!

Something awesome for Harvest Moon fans
Having followed the Harvest Moon series since it earliest installment, I was ecstatic to have a book that collected the artwork of the entire series. It's like a happy trip down memory lane! Except I have no idea what's anybody's saying since everything's in Japanese.

Note that the artbook tends to focus more on the myriad of characters in the HM games than the locales or other gameplay elements. If you're an HM fan, be sure to say hello to your favourites, since they're all here, and in every incarnation to boot!
