Like in the arcade!
Going to Japan is an amazing experience. One can enjoy great food, a fascinating culture... and of course game centers!
After playing on Project Diva there, it just isn't quite as satisfying to play it on a home console with a regular controller. This one changes that.
The build quality feels sturdy and the heft of the controller makes it extremely stable. Button response is very satisfying and, for some reason, I especially like the feeling of using the slide bar. The 3.5 mm jack port on the controller also works flawlessly, making it very easy to play on muted, which my neighbours are probably thankful for.
If I really wanted to nitpick, I'd say that it would be great to have the option to easily switch the XYBA for a triangle-square-cross-circle set-up and that it would have been useful to highlight the top row buttons functions (Home, L, R, etc...). The black engraving is impossible to read in low light conditions. However, once you've got used to the controller, none of these points are a problem.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to go back to practicing my Project Diva skills so that I can look semi decent playing it next time I visit an arcade...
