Beautiful Guys and Legendary Beasts are a Match Made in Heaven
This game has so much stuff in it that I cannot believe it is being sold for so cheap. This has the original Hiiro no Kakera PS2 game, the Ano Sora no Shita de PS2 fandisc, and the Hiiro no Kakera PSP game extras all together on one PS2 disc!
As you go after each guy, you get to choose whether you want to do the Hiiro no Kakera PS2 verison or the Ano Sora no Shita de version. I recommend doing the Hiiro no Kakera PS2 stuff first and then going on to do the Ano Sora no Shita de stuff afterward.
There are 6 gorgeous guys to choose from. The game is set up where after you play through a guy successfully, new selections are available for other guys. Therefore, you want to play through the guys in a certain order to make sure you don't miss anything.
As you play a certain guy's path, you get certain scenes with Kazuki Yone's godly artwork. This will be saved to a gallery for later viewing pleasure. After you snag a guy and see his ending, you get to play a skit that takes place after the final battle. They are quite hilarious and really bring out the guy's insecurities and worries about the future (marriage). XD
Also, there is a 5-level question quiz where you can earn 5 different voice dialogues for each guy. For example, the level 1 dialogue is about how the guy would wake you up from a deep sleep. ^^
As my title of this review leads you to believe, the beautiful guys in this game are connected to legendary animals. If you want to see them sprout wings, gain tails, grow horns, etc., all you have to do is play through each guy's path.
While this isn't related to the guys, this game has something that I have never experienced before. There are voiced skits whenever you get a Game Over. The two female minor characters discuss what you did wrong and even go off on funny tangents (such as talking about stalkers). I found myself purposely aiming for game overs just so I could see the skits.
Next, there is a way to earn extra pictures by visiting a shrine during gameplay and on the main menu. After you collect 3 fortunes of the same type, you get 1 image from that fortune's category.
Lastly, this game has 4 different openings. All of them are sung by Fujita Maiko and are simply wonderful. You'll probably get goosebumps from listening to them cause they're so good.
Oh, there is a sequel to this game. It's Hiiro no Kakera 3 Soukoku no Kusabi. I plan on buying it after I beat this game. Yeah, there is so much stuff that I am still playing this. I love this Aizouban game to pieces and I can't wait to start on the sequel.
