Not for everyone.
Its a good controller but its not for everyone. It has advantages and disadvantages... but still. Its not bad.

Try before you buy
This thing gives me carpal tunnel syndrome!

The direction pad is in an awkward position & the pad itself is too thick to grip comfortably, making charge moves a chore to pull off. Worse still, the left hand grip & protruding L1+L2 buttons can leave your fingers feeling cramped & painful after a while.

Modding this with a hacksaw & some putty to flatten the backside has alleviated the pain somewhat, but buyer's remorse remains.

versitile controller
Turbo can be independently set on action buttons, which is good.

The D-Pad sensitivity can be changed on the back to improve looseness, I set mine to L which works best for circular motions.

The face buttons are well placed for people who use the piano technique on pads.

I recommend this for pad warriors

A great fighting pad
The Hori Fighting Commander 3 Pro is definitely a great product. The only problem I've had with it is the circle button getting occasionally stuck but other than that it is a great purchase if you want to play fighting games.

Flawed, but good
Better than your normal PS3 controller, but is way behind both arcade controller and the Sega Saturn Controller.
The buttons placement is not as good as it could be. The buttons do not work with all games, eg. with Bloodrayne Betrayal.
The D-Pad is good, best in the generation.
The shoulder buttons are also the best in the generation because they're not triggers of any sort.
Works with Windows 7 with just plugging it in.
