This movie generally exceeded my expectations. The action is high octane and intense and bodies are left laying or thrown through tables or glass panels in seemingly in every single scene in the spirit of Hong Kong action movies. There are some excellent action scenes in this movie such as the rooftop chase scene as mentioned by another reviewer. Wu Jing also shines in this movie as the main villain and is great to watch. However, some of the dialogue in this movie is horrible, especially during the scenes where the villains start to philosophize and justify their actions. Overall, if you can look past some of the poor dialogue, this is still a very entertaining movie for action fans.

3 and a half stars
I had second thoughts on buying either this or Donnie Yen\'s FLASH POINT. I ended up buying both. But I enjoyed this one much better. The action is unbelievable. The rooftop chase is one of the best I\'ve seen in a long time. The only downside is, it got a little preachy during that \"We\'re the same\" scene between the main bad guy and the two cops. Also, I was expecting a lot more from JC Chan. He was ok but not as hardcore as the rest. Would\'ve been 4 stars if not for some corny dialogues. But overall, it\'s worth it.
