Arena Combat with posing
First off, this game is a huge fan game. If you are not a Jojo fan you will find the content sub-par at best. The game plays like an arena fighter like Naruto ninja storm or Saint Seiya: Brave soldiers with a emphasis on 2v2. If you plan on a Jojo fighting game day with your friends be warned as there is no couch multiplayer, only online. Think of this game as more of a single player arena fighter with an added online multiplayer. Single player focuses on a completely original story that spans all of the Jojo universes from Phantom Blood to Jojolion. As such it is very very text heavy and the japanese version contains little to no english. It is not impossible to pick up on the story and enjoy the gameplay without reading the text but it does take away from it. Despite its flaws I find it overwhelmingly fun and it delivers what I wanted from it, and that is more JoJo. This game is also very pretty, giving that manga style a fluid movement in combat. Outside of combat characters move very stiff having what looks like 1 walking animation for everyone in the cast, similar to how most npcs walk in rpgs, but the areas these moments take place in are very pleasing to the eye and are fully explorable in between combat portions. If you are not a fan this game will not turn you and you will not enjoy the gameplay that other games have done better. If you are a fan, seeing characters from different arcs meetup over the mystery of the eyes of heaven and watching favorite characters move fluidly through the arenas is more then enough to be enjoyable. I say it was worth every penny I spent on it but before you pop into you cart and proceed to checkout, watch some videos of gameplay. It is an aquired taste, but if you enjoy arena fighters and of course Jojo you will find a large amount of fun and posing to be had here.
