Product Features

  • Don’t Go Chasing Nightmares – Each Jail has 3 desires that players will need to fill up to provide bonuses and satisfy the Jail’s mood. However, if the Jail’s mood worsens, players will notice a white mist, signifying that a Nightmare is near and ready to fight. If the Nightmare gets too close, players will enter “Nightmare Hunt” mode, where the Nightmare will chase you through the dungeon in real-time. Nightmares cannot be defeated unless players destroy the core of the dungeon.
  • Jack is a Dull Boy – Jack, the protagonist from Mary Skelter: Nightmares, has now turned into Nightmare Jack. He can still help you along the way, but be wary of his heart rate meter! Once his heart rate reaches a certain limit, he will turn into Ripper Jack, causing him to go berserk. When in Ripper Jack mode, Otsuu also risks going into Blood Skelter mode, which will cause her to go berserk too!
  • Go Directly to Jail – Add another degree of difficulty by setting dungeon conditions like “no saves or heals” with the Jail Trial battle system. Successfully completing a Jail Trial provides better item drops and more experience! Want more special bonuses to help you through dungeons? By collecting Jail Pieces, players can add these items to a randomized roulette that can have beneficial results!
  • Farm for Blood, Reap The Benefits – Use Blood Crystals to plant Blood Flowers, which can be harvested for additional items. In a dungeon area where Blood Flowers are planted, splash them with Marchen Blood by performing a critical hit on enemies during battle to get even rarer items!

Item Description

Jail—an impregnable human asylum called a “living prison.”

This prison, which was suddenly born several decades ago, was controlled by monsters called “Marchens” and mad beings that led them called “Nightmares.”

Tsuu and The Little Mermaid, members of an organization called “Dawn” whose purpose is to escape from that Jail, successfully rescue new ally Alice, who was captured, and a boy named Jack, who she was with.

Tsuu headed to the city with Alice and Jack, but in the midst of that, Alice’s body was dyed in madness and started swinging her blade indiscriminately.

Alice’s blade attacked Tsuu, the Little Mermaid, and Jack, who tried to protect Tsuu, and the three fell down below a cliff.

Before the eyes of the princess who woke up below the cliff was Jack, who was seemingly about to die—.

Tsuu, The Little Mermaid, and Jack—this is the story of girls that spit blood and a boy that became a nightmare in attempts to break free from fate.

Absolutely worth a look!
This is a heavily underrated game series. I picked up the English physical version from Limited Run Games, but was disappointed that I couldn't change the text to Japanese to help my language learning. Luckily, PlayAsia was there to scratch the itch.

The games have lots of lovely characters and have many events for character development (plus steamy images/visuals).

However, it all comes together in a wonderful storyline with great gameplay mechanics. Blood Farming is essential to getting the best equipment and is easily manageable. The challenges (like being unable to save) add great rewards such as extra EXP or Gold for seasoned players.

The side quests can get a little tedious (one took me FOUR HOURS to complete), but they help you level up. Believe me, the game gets SUPER difficult towards the end.

After you've finished, you'll wish that you could forget the game so you could play for the first time all over again.

Highly recommend!

Solid Package, Worth Picking Up
I don't know that I was expecting all that much, as Compile Heart hasn't always impressed me, but Mary Skelter 2 (and its predecessor, which is included in the package—unlocked after beating 2, or by a quick DLC download) is the real deal. Interesting gameplay, absolutely gorgeous art, memorable music, and while certainly the game doesn't shy away from being a bit titillating at times (as you might expect from CH), it doesn't feel like simply a vehicle for titillation as some others have. This definitely is not a gothed-up Moero Chronicle. Solid game, worth playing.
