NOTE to Australian readers: MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death has recently been refused a rating classification in Australia due to the reported sexualization of select characters. In light of Idea Factory's statement that they do not intend to censor any future titles we do not expect a release in the region. We will update our fans if this case changes.

MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death, Idea Factory's latest Makai Ichiban Kan dungeon RPG will be receiving a North American and European release in September, following the Japanese release last year. The title was being described by the developers as "top class in terms of difficulty" and "not unlike a Metal Max game" during the initial Japanese promotions.

When the stars in the sky have ceased their rotation the land is thrown into a blanket of perpetual darkness —
an eternal night has fallen upon the world. The character Estra, a Makashi descendent of the stars, bands together with mechanical Guardians to conquer the four towers. Each of these towers is guarded by a Protector God which must be defeated in order to rewind the Celestial Screw and restore the rotation of the stars. Increasingly difficult challenges await the player in each tower, each designed to test their dungeon crawling abilities.

Players are able to form parties of three characters and three guardians to take along on their dungeon expeditions.
As a dungeon crawler players will find themselves navigating the very titular challenging mazes and puzzles throughout the majority of the game. There are 5 chosen Makashi that can be used, each with their own unique attributes. The antagonists have different attributes of their own, which will most likely affect who you choose to accompany you (full list of characters). The robotic Guardians you take with you can be customized, as using different configurations can have a drastic effect on the Guardian's power.
If you would like to play the already released Japanese or Asia versions of the game you can find them all available:
