Item Description
Metal Slug the horizontal shooter is breaking new grounds in the Sony PSP platform. The new game makes use of the wide screen to display some high color resolution graphics. You can use the LAN facilities and ask friends to participate in the war with you.When you get a friend to join the frontiers with you, you'd be able to take care of enemies in different parts of the stages. Besides the main mission, there is a new combat school mode where you get to play with 70 weapons and learn warfare tactics under a tsundere beauty.

Leaves something to be desired.
I love Metal Slug games...
That said, this game disapoints...
don't get me wrong, it's a great shooter. Problem is it's designed as if it were to be played at the arcades. That means death after death after death in the normal and hard difficulties.
Instead of being a game that forces the player to hone his skills, it is an exercise in frustration. I really think they should start developing this series with the console market in mind, since there are no more arcade iterations.
Ironic that MS3, being designed for the arcades was actually a more even game and could actually be mastered with skill.

Metal Slug XX is an enjoyable experience on the PSP
Metal Slug XX on the PSP has enhanced difficulty, great new audio content and stellar multiplayer mode which is worth the buy.

Better than Metal Slug 7 in my opinion.
I rarely use my PSP but being a huge Metal Slug fan I had to get this, even though I already owned MS7. This version lacks the map that MS7 had on the DS but other than that it improves on 7 in every way. Visuals are bigger and sharper, controls feel more fluid, the sound is better and in case you knew MS7 too well, there's new prisoner locations.
A great portable Metal Slug, in fact maybe the best portable Metal Slug.
