Shinji and Asuka are here to do aerobics with you. In baggy t-shirts and shorts, they look more like a pair of kindergarten kids in gym class. I love this figure~! It is very well-made and is adorable. It is from one of my favorite episodes of NGE -- the synch ratio episode. As an Asuka/Shinji fan, I heavily endorse getting both figures so you can put them both on your shelf and make your OTP complete (like I did). Most figures of Shinji are goofy and derpy, and while this one is goofy, it is cute and well-made!

A recommended item for Shinji fans
There are precious few figurines of Shinji, and the ones that do exist either look nothing like him or are packaged with more popular characters just to make sure somebody buys them. Because of this, I'm quite happy to finally have a good figurine of him.
The sculpting is quite nice, and the design is nothing short of adorable. Assembling the figure is almost literally a snap; just popping together about two pieces. I must admit that I'm less than pleased with the stand, which took ages to put together in a sturdy configuration, and is so poor at accommodating the figure's weight and shape that it might as well have been made for a different figure altogether. It now sits more or less securely on my computer desk, although it does tend to shake worrisomely when I type fast.
To a slightly lesser degree, the figure looks exactly like the Petit Eva illustrations of Shinji...but doesn't really resemble the original Shinji much at all. The colouration is slightly off, and the face and expression don't look a thing like the famous character from the Eva TV series. Still, it's so brainmeltingly cute that I can hardly bring myself to care!

Very cute figure of Shinji
Shinji goods are so rare, and seeing a figure-set of him and Asuka made me now I *had* to buy this!
Despite my compliant of the Asuka stand being fragile (Shinji's is too but I haven't had any problems with it so far), I think this is a very cute Puchi Eva episode 09 rendering of Shinji, as well as Asuka. It would be nice if Shinji's hair was his actual series color (brown) instead of his typical figure depiction of black, but that's a minor compliant.
Over all I'm really pleased with these figures, and would be interested in buying more of this sort in the future (although an articulated and "normally" detailed figure of Shinji would be nice too).
