Item Description

Straight out of NieR: Automata, the game that brought to life the battle between the Androids and the Machines, prototype model YoRHa Type A No.2 (commonly known as A2) is now available as a Bring Arts figure.

This figure strikes a perfect balance between mobility and structural beauty by utilizing flexible parts in various locations. Weathering has been applied to multiple parts of her body, and the discoloration of her leg is recreated by a subtlegradation. The figure comes with long and short hairstyles, three mountable weapons—Virtuous Grief, Virtuous Dignity and Type-4O Sword—as well as the memorable Forest King in his baby carriage. Rust and grime have been applied to the Forest King to match the look and feel of the Machines, and his covering can also be taken off. All these incredible details truly bring the world of NieR: Automata to life.

Display stand included.

Know what you're getting for the cost
The long and the short of it is that for a $100-ish figure, the quality of Bring Arts figures just aren't up to snuff or nearly worth the asking price.

While the detail is nice (the weapons in particular are absolutely 5-star stuff) and the accessories are stellar, the plastic is a bit cheap and the joints are stiff, the articulation is sub-par (the legs are a particular pain point here - you can't raise them more than 45 degrees before they'll literally disconnect from the socket), and the actual quality control is ROUGH. To the last point in particular, I picked up all 3 of new Nier Automata figures (2B 2.0, A2, 9S): 9S's hacking accessory won't actually let a hand connect behind it, rendering it moot - One of A2's feet was miscast or mis-assembled (and the replacement process is neither straightforward or easy) - I literally had to cut and file parts of 2B's display base to make it stand flat.

If you're absolutely starved for Automata merchandise, I can understand if you follow my lead and pick them up. As somewhat glorified statues, they'll look fine on display as long as you can make a decent - if basic - pose. But considering their competition and how badly they pale in comparison to the likes of Figma, the line screams of little more than consumer extortion.

I'm happy enough to have them, but would I buy them again? Definitely not.
