description says:

A decent Horror with some nice scares. Not bad but not fantastic. Recommended for Asian Horror Aficianados.
---- Nightmare is a confusing tale about a group of friends who set up the club during their college days called "A Few Good Men" . The group is made up of Hye-Jin (the heroine of the movie), Sun-ae -who is best friends with Hye-Jin and came from her hometown in the country-, Se-Hun (a painter), Hyun-Jun (a retired athlete), Jeon-Ok (a lawer) and Mi-Ryeong (an actress). Nightmare is confusing because the plot happens in 3 different time frames. The time differences that jump from present to past, works well with the movies storyline, giving it a nice twist near the ending that is relatively unpredictable. The story revolves around Hye-Jin who meets a girl called Eu-Jun, who Hye-Jin relates to. The two become friends and Hye-Jin wants to bring Eu-Jun into her club. Hye-Jin introduces her and immediatly Eu-Jun and Hyun-Jun (thats the retired athlete) start hitting it off and Sun-ae is very jealous. When Sun-ae witnesses Eu-Jun and Hyun-Jun kissing in the garden, she vowes to take her revenge. Sun-ae organises a meeting between all the "Few Good Men" members and tells a story about a girl from her hometown who was possessed by an evil spirit, her name was Kyung-Ah. As Sun-ae tells the story Eu-Jun enters the room to hear Sun-ae's revelation. Sun-ae tells the group that the girl was responsible for the death of many villagers and the death of Hye-Jin's father, and Sun-ae reveals that Eu-Jun is infact Kyung-Ah, the possessed girl. Hye-Jin confronts Eu-Jun about this and Eu-Jun admits to everything. Hye-Jin storms out and heads home, she gets about half way then turns back to talk to Eu-Jun and work things out. On her way back she sees Eu-Jun on top of a building and witnesses her jump to her death. Shortly after a note turns up at Se-huns studio which reads "Kyung-Ahs revenge has begun". What follows is the thrill of the hunt as Kyung-Ah kills them off one by one. ---- I enjoyed watching this movie, the story was interesting and involving (although somewhat confusing) and the death scenes are genuinely scary and gorey. Ultimately the movie falls flat from being award winning or classic, but from the horror stuff coming out of Korea lately, this is a decent addition. Nightmare is involving if you have the patiance to make sense of the story. The cuts between past and present is especially confusing due to the camera work, if they had just used a slightly drawn out pause it would've been easier to determine the time changes. The Kyung-Ah ghost isnt especially original as it looks alot like the cliche Ringu "girl-with-long-dark-obscuring hair". However, Kyung-Ah's story helps take her a step away from being a complete copy. So all in all Nightmare is a decent horror flick, well worth a look at by horror fans that arent especially picky or judgemental. I enjoyed this one for what is was! -Adam Kitano

Just like Another Heaven, i saw ths movie on Tv quite some months ago.
this movie is strictly a Love or Hate movie.

It offers an interesting yet confusing story, a scary yet clique demon girl, a fantastic yet bizzare plot twist, scary yet predictable death scenes, and an all round decent movie with some extremely confusing cuts between flash backs and actual events (though only at the start).

Gawi is a story about a girl called Kong-ah who was apparantly possesed by a demon when she was young. Kong-ah changed her name and moved to a diferant city where she hoped to make friends, Kong-ah certainly isnt an evil character, or atleast she wasnt until bickering goes on between the main character\'s (sorry forgot her name) friends who are somewhat angered that there friend as become friendly with kong-ah. An arguement breaks out and some hateful things are said, the Main character is told about Kong-ah\'s aparant past and she becomes angry and says her friendship with kong-ah is over (keep in mind i saw this quite some time ago). On the way home the main character witnesses kong-ah comit suicide by leaping off a building and landing on a car. Now the vengeful spirit of Kong-ah is out to take revenge on the main character and her friends.

Gawi has some pretty decent scare moments, and the imagery of a Sadako-looking (Sadako being the girl out of Ringu ;) ) Kong-ah lurking in the shadows is quite frightening. However the story and flash backs can be quite hard to follow ad those with a short attention span may get sick of it and turn it off.

Gawi is pretty good in my eyes, however i know some people that absolutely hate it, they dispise the Korean ghost tale theme and just dispise it in general. But please watch this all the way through because the twist at the end is really pretty cool.

All in all, rent first and only buy if you really really love it... i dont own it, probably wont either. But I\'m definantly glad i saw it.
