Item Description

This is an incredibly cute pet simulator featuring the Ocha-Ken (tea dog) line of characters. It plays similarly to "Nintendogs" with the stylus interaction and voice commands that series is known for, but also has plenty of minigames that you play with the dogs (and cats) in order to win items which you can place inside and outside of your house. These items range from flooring and wallpaper to flowers, toys, teas, and many others with which your pet(s) can interact with. The main draw is to see how your animals will react to the items (in the form of a cute animation. Some of the mini games you'll experience are: "Old Maid", "Sevens", "Poker", a sliding-puzzle, a ring toss game, a "Red Light/Green Light"-type game...among many others. Fans of the show and toys will immediately recognize the sounds that the dogs and cats make.
This all makes for a stress-free and enjoyable gaming experience.

Ocha-Ken Goodness
I picked up this charming game mainly because I like the Ocha-Ken characters - they\'re a relaxed bunch with tea leaves for their tails and ears!! That feeling carries on through every element of the program: the visuals are clean and well-animated; the sound effects and music are simple and laid-back, but not annoying; and there\'s plenty to do between interacting with your pets (and their friends) around your house, and playing minigames to win items for them. The minigames are simple card and action games that usually take about a minute to play, but be prepared to replay some of them in order to win that certain item since those harmless-looking puppies and kittens are relentless at the card-based games ^_^. Really, there\'s no penalty for losing at the games, you just won\'t win the item that you\'re playing for - there\'s absolutely no pressure on the game player at all.
It would probably help to know Japanese in order to understand the cut scenes and read the menus and game rules, but one can feel their way around the game by tapping on icons and seeing where they take you - you can always tap to go back to where you were. Once you get to a minigame, it\'s pretty simple to figure out, too. Saving your game is easy also, it\'s just a matter of trial-and-error but you\'ll eventually get to a familiar-looking save option.
This title is the perfect diversion that I hoped it was.
