Product Features

  • Power of music - Harness the power of song to defeat evil! Every fight is a performance, and you’ve gotta give the audience what they want! By entering “Concert Mode” you’ll get boosts from your music, as well as be able to fill up your Voltage Gauge faster to perform special skills
  • Customizable characters - It may be the end of the world, but idols must always be ready to perform! Players are able to customize their outfits, accessories, hair, and more! Be careful, though, because sustaining hits from the enemies can cause a “Costume Break”, which will compromise their outfits and leave them vulnerable to more damage!
  • Fight enemies with harmonies - The group combines their talents to create beautiful harmonies, and with the “Harmonics” system, players can sing enemies into their graves! Create deadly super chains of attacks, utilizing each idol’s skill to keep the pain coming
  • Share features and languages - Create performances for the idols and share them with the PlayStation®4 Share function. Build each routine, move by move. Players can use the PlayStation®4 Camera to project themselves into the performance, as well as the Move controller to add special effects. The better the shows, the more moves players may pass onto the idols. Players will enjoy Japanese and English voices along with English text

Item Description

Compile Heart and Galapagos RPG are here to bring us a brand new PS4 title (the first of many we hope!) - mixing elements of the Idol simulation and JRPG genres into a stunning new IP! Set to be the first 1080p JRPG for the PS4, Omega Quintet features stunning artwork from Fukahire as well as music production by Lantis and (idea) WILL.

The game follows protagonist Takuto as he takes the task to manage and protect the 'Verse Maidens', five pop idols (Otoha, Kyoka, Kanadeko, Nene, and Aria) who have the ability to defeat the invading 'beep' with the power of their song and dance!

Alongside detailed descriptions of the pop idol's personalities, Compile Heart have already included descriptions of their rich cast of characters that hint at a number of clashing personalities and budding friendships.

The combat and gameplay seems to imply to a turn-based RPG, however it would not be a true Compile Heart game without the confirmed Senran Kagura-inspired destructible clothing (and big numbers when you attack, lots of big numbers)!

As a genre crossover don't expect fighting to take up all your time, you have some idol managing to do! Compile Heart have released a video showing off the "PVS" (Promotion Video System) a feature in the game that lets you make your own dance videos - allowing you to customize the live performances to your liking.

Easily one of the worst JRPGs I've played in recent memory
The story in this game is garbage. It's filled to the brim with every single anime moe-girl trope possible, and doesn't have an original bone in its body. The plot is incredibly predictable, boring, and just so dumb.

Look, I know most people don't play these games for the story, so I'll just cut straight to the chase - the girls in this are dumber than a bag of bricks and make me want to rip my PS4 in half. They all have a very generic design, they're cute and all, but that's literally ALL they have going for them. They have no personality outside of the generic anime-girl tropes associated with each of their characters. You have the quiet one, the super cute and bright childhood friend, the 'apparently they're 30 but they look 15' girl, and so on.

The game play is about as fun as eating a bag of cockroaches, it's the most bare-bones JRPG combat system you can get, and while I can definitely get behind something like that, it kind of sucks that the game is ridiculously easy and thus takes away any potential fun you can get from this game. I started on hard and was still wrecking everything. To be honest, I think I put around 10 hours into this game before I realized how bad it was, so maybe stuff actually starts to get difficult later, but I wasn't going to force myself to play such a horrible game to get to that point.

Everyone just avoid this mess, there are so many other options out for the PS2, the PS3, and hell, even the VITA has a billion better options than this crap.

Great game for anime fans only
In my opinion, Omega Quintet will be enjoyable the most for the fans of anime in general.

If you watch anime now, or enjoyed it in earlier years of your life, Omega Quintet will give you a lot of fun conversations with good sence of humor, girls in sexy outfits included.

But if you're not an anime fan at all, I cannot recommend this game, because outside of anime-like story telling which is very enjoyable for the fans, player is left with mediocre mob grind experience, which for 2016 is really not the way to go.

In a conclusion, if you don't like anime, you're better off looking somewhere else. But for anime fans, it's a solid choice. I found myself able to tolerate mob grind to see the story unfold.

Excellent game!
Next to Digimon, this is the only true old school turn based JRPG on the system. The battle system isn't as in depth as the Neptunia/FFF games, as those have an element of strategy to them. The leveling, though, has an extensive grid which allows to you customize which weapon you want each girl to use, and also let's you pick your skills as you see fit. I really enjoyed this game and recommend it!
