description

In this thrilling game you start an adventure as a young trainer who just gained their "trainer licease". You are invited to challenge the Indigo League with the help of a pokemon you choose from Prof. OAK. Together with the pokemon you choose you will collect gym badges, battle trainers and pokemon, and catch pokemon.Pocket Mosters Midori (green) was the parter of Pocket Monsters Red in Japan. The graphics are slightly different than that of Pocket Mosters (Pokemon) Red and Blue in most countries. Pocket Monsters Blue was a special version available only by mail in Japan. Many things including Pokemon locations and maps are different and sometimes even considered harder in this classical version of Pokemon.

Clearing up some confusion
The original two Pokemon games were Aka and Midori (Red and Green), released in Japan only. Some time later, a third version, Ao, was released. This game sported new designs for all 151 pokemon, as well as a redesigned Unknwn Dungeon. Pokemon locations were different than in Aka and Midori, the most drastic change being the existance of wild Rougela (Jynx) in the game.
Now for the US debut. Two games were released over here, Red and Blue, Red having the pokemon locations and exclusives of Aka, and Blue those of Midori. Both games sported the new pokemon designs and the Unknown Dungeon layout of Ao.

So there you have it. Technically, Midori is the game you know as Blue, with different graphics and a different Unknown Dungeon (while Aka is Red with the same changes); the game we never got is actually Ao, though we did get it\'s graphics and redesigned dungeon.

Worth noting is also that both the japanese and english versions of Fire Red and Leaf Green and based off Aka and Midori, and the design of the Unknown Dungeon in this game is indeed based off the one in Aka and Midori that we never got to see.

And of course, there\'s Yellow/Special Pikachu Edition, wich ALSO had new graphics, new pokemon locations/exclusives and a THIRD version of the Unknown Dungeon. Plus the new gameplay features, of course.

Great Classical Games
I love collecting the Japanese versions of the Pokemon (Pocket Monsters) games! I became addicted to Pokemon when I got Pokemon Red version for my 7th birthday (now I\'m 14). After that, I got Blue & Yellow versions for Christmas, then all the other games followed. I started collecting the Japanese versions this year and thanks to play-asia I have the Japanese Red and Green- brand new and mint condition. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to buy these great games!
