Psikyo Collection Vol. 1 is heading to Nintendo Switch, squeezing four currently available eShop titles into one juicy bundle.
The four titles included are Strikers 1945, SOL Divide, Samurai Aces, and Gunbird, all of which are classic, arcade-style scrolling shooters. All four games were originally released in the '90s, each with their own slight twists and different sets of playable characters. While this collection seems to be pretty bare-bones and "limited", it's always nice to have a physical release of eShop-only games. especially if they are arcade classics.

Another great collection!
I love this one. Strikers 1945 II and Dragon Blaze are amazing shooters.
I think this is the best collection of all the 3.

R-type Syle of shooter
This is a shooter that takes a lot of the aspects of RTYPE and gives you a colorful style of shooter. So if you liked Rtypes style of shump, this will be for you.

I love Funny Schmups
I wanted this game so much when i saw it would get a release on the PS4 after so many years of silence since its Sega Saturn release; I crossed my fingers for a psysical release but of course, as occidentals we are always (especially Europe) considered like less than nothing.
Fortunatly, LimitedRunGames got the opportunity to release it but, we are even more fortunate to have PlayAsia, giving us the chance to own the Japanese version that is almost the same as the LRG one (i have both and there is only 1, big, difference).
The game is really close to what was released on the Sturn, the graphics haven't been improved that much, but being quite cartoony, this doesn't really hurt the retina despite being pixelated.
There are 2 main modes (among other funny things) to choose from which way you want to play; One one hand you have the Classic Mode which is the Saturn Version with either the Story (or Time Attack) mode or the original Arcade, one the other hand, you have the New Arcade Mode +, with online ranking, where you can play with every characters (including on-Disk DLC ones) to all levels (or any level you want) in addition to an other Time Attack mode.
On top of that you have a really cool menu, called DATA MODE HD, that tells us the story of each Jaleco games and characters that are in Game Tengoku, this part is really funny because the voice actors speak as the characters and not in an official way (of course the game is subtitled in English, when not directly in English, there is no difference with the LRG occidental release on this part).

The only difference between this Japanese version and the Occidental one is that when the PS4 version was annouced, it was said to have 2 DLC characters included on the Blu-Ray (Clarice and Homura) but finally only one is included (Clarice), Homura is missing, and no patch as been yet released to restore the mistake (according to Degika, the editor).; Meanwhile the LRG version include Homura (the Base Ball Player) as it should have been on this version too.

Anyway, the game is as funny as it was, it hasn't lost its mojo, the enhancements on the presentation are cool and the Data mode HD is a great addition to the fun.

A must own if you like the games like Gunbird, TwinBee, Parodius and alike; If Only we could see these licences being brought back from their graves, i would be so happy.

Must have for every shmup fan !!!
Psikyo should know every shmup fan.
This collection is worthwhile, even if you already have the games for other systems. You can also play the horizontal shooter in Tate mode, which in combination with the Flip Grip (Fangamer) has a great appeal.
You do not need to say much about the games. They are all fantastic.
The price is also very fair and PlayAsia is doing a fantastic job. Thumbs up.
