RELEASE HIGHTLIGHTS: Dark Souls II and Titanfall!

Welcome to our Weekly Release Highlights! This week is probably one of the biggest weeks of 2014, with Titanfall and Dark Souls II! So much gameplay!

Winning over 60 awards from critics around the world and offering an expansive online multiplayer experience, Titanfall is one of the most anticipated and awaited games of all time. Developed by Respawn Entertainment and crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty 2, Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, Titanfall will deliver a brand-new online experience that combines smooth, fast-paced multiplayer action with the exciting addition of Mecha on Mecha battles.

The story is centered on a member of a roaming space fleet caught far from home, roving on the edge of space known as The Frontier. Titanfall sets players in the middle of a war between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia.  Battles range from small vs. giant, natural vs. industrial and man vs. machine.

Fans of first-person shooter will be thrilled as Titanfall brings a fast-paced, near-future conflict that gives players the freedom to fight as both elite assault pilots and agile, heavily armored Titans. Featuring a multiplayer match with 6 vs. 6: 6 human players on each team, each with their own AI-controlled Titan and an extra 12 AI soldiers per team.

Prepare to Die... again!

Veterans and newcomers will be assaulted by new challenges adding to the experience – enemy AI has been completely improved with reactive and adaptive tactics tailored to give grief to the player, boss fights forgo any sense of predictability, and new environmental traps are engineered for many a frustrating return post death.

Dark Souls II continues in the series approach towards a psuedo-online experience, but different from it's predecessors are the new dedicated servers. For serious PvP Dark Souls players, this perhaps is the biggest change; no longer are lagging back-stabs an issue.

Also, in support of this change, the “Humanity” mechanic has been changed to “encourage” online play – there are punishments for constantly playing offline, but easier means to the online features, such as message leaving, finding jolly-cooperation, summoning and covenant features.

Graphically, Dark Souls II achieves new heights compared to it's predecessors Demon Souls and Dark Souls; aside from the new advanced lighting technology, every detail and texture is extremely well realized, creating an extremely immersive experience. Enemies and bosses look even more foreboding making for great visual clues for would be explorers.
