A good game but not perfect
The Outbreak series were the last two games that kept true to the spirit of Resident Evil: exploring locations, grabbing items and solving puzzles of (usually) minimal difficulty while discovering (and fighting) classic enemies likes zombies, lickers and the like.

From Resident Evil 4 and onward the series is looking more and more like an action game like "Gears of war" than the game that started its genre so if you want true "Survival Horror" games then Oubreak and Outbreak File #2 are two good (and sadly the last) candidates.

Compared to its predecessors the game has improved a lot of features, for example: a more realistic way of reloading guns, breakable weapons, etc. plus many new features like eight selectable characters, team actions, reduced inventory, no item boxes (they were abused), a time limit (virus gauge), etc.

The game also contain a lot of bonuses in the form of a collection: you can access images, videos, etc, and enable new costumes and game modes, thus extending the life of the game.

Still the game has two drawbacks.

The first is subjective: the game doesn't have a solid history, instead your only objective in each scenario is survive to the end.

The second one is technical: the loading times are really noticeably and range between 5 to 15 seconds (the reason is: the game at its time was targeted to the ill-fated Plastation 2 Hard-drive).

In conclusion: a good game with two glaring issues, still this is the last game that really feels like a Resident Evil game.

Very very very good. One of the best!
This game is amazing. I know, it\'s true that there are some flaws (like not being able to grab an herb while you\'re dying) but overall, it\'s one of the best games i\'ve ever played. I honestly only found the lack of mic usage a problem when i first started. After you get used to it, it\'s not so difficult to communicate. Buy it. Play it. Be nice. Have fun.
