Rockman, the twenty year old series is still going strong with its ninth installment about to be released on Nintendo Wii Ware. To realize the full potential of the game, instead of distracting players with fancy graphics and special effects, the game is produced in retro style.

However, this does not mean that the composers could not play around with the music of the game. Rockman 9 The Arrange Album added flavor and polish to the themes such that they display both a refreshing feel while retaining the familiar nostalgic sentiment.

Doesn't do Megaman 9 justice...
Unless you must own everything Megaman, you don't need this album. It seems like the people that did the remixing for this soundtrack did not really know a lot about Megaman.

The 2 good songs on this album were Galaxyman's stage and one of the Dr. Wily Castle stages, other than that, they were all overly relaxed, slow rock sort of music that doesn't not fit Megaman at all.

If you are considering this soundtrack, I wouldn't get it. I would get the Megaman 10 Image soundtrack. That album is a lot more fitting. This album itself is not terrible, but if you were expecting the high paced Megaman style music remixed, this will just make you cry.

Very good arrangement
I especially loved the track 4 and 5. The overall quality of this album is very good. This album contains Hitoshi Ariga's manga and illustrations. The size of CD is bigger than regular CDs (in order to contain Ariga's manga inside)

Mixed feelings about this soundtrack...
Athough there are definately some great tracks on this album, its not as consistent as some of the arranged soundtracks out there. Nearly every track has a different style and instrumentation, but some of the styles just dont work. Its also a little disappointing when a theme is completely unrecognisable because its been changed so much, as is the case with a few of the tracks. Its still a decent soundtrack with some standout tracks, but it could have been a bit better.

Amazing Music
While this soundtrack does stray away from the original music, all of it sounds great and is easily recognizable. It has been optimized for casual listening, not for use with the game, so it sounds mellower. But it's all high-quality, beautiful music. There's also a lot of variety. This album has metal, funk, techno, ska, orchestrations, piano pieces, and pop all on one disc. Plus, it comes with an amazing (but short) prequel manga. This is a must-have for Rockman fans!
