Sakura Wars is a Strategy RPG that features a unique sim-based story system. An in-depth storyline exists, much like in any other RPG; however, the player's destiny in the game is not predetermined. Character interaction plays a major role, and your responses to the various characters in the game can ultimately change the story content and even the final outcome.

Very fun game
To tell the truth I bought the game without expecting much from it, but I'm pleasantly surprised!! The game is actually very fun and entertaining, with a great cast of characters. I´m glad I bought this.

Solid SRPG, and if you like Valkyria Chronicles, you'll likely enjoy this.
I played Valkyria Chronicles long before I knew of this game. And I learned about this thanks to Project X Zone on the 3DS. The gameplay here in Sakura Wars CLEARLY had an influence on the team that made Valkyria Chronicles, that seems obvious to me. Character building text scenes with well done SRPG battles makes for a fun game overall.

Great introduction to the sakura wars series
Two discs with dual languages options, this is clearly the better choice over the Wii version. Luckily the store still have copies of the limited edition version with the poster and artbook at the time of my order.

An amazing experience
It is the first time I play this kind of SRPGs and I am glad I got it. Even though the battles can be short, the story is really interesting, the characters that you can support with are amazing and funny at the same time, and the battles are really entertaining. Also, you will feel that you are the main protagonist of an anime.

If you like RPGs as well as anime, you should give it a try.

Interesting hybrid of Visual Novel and SRPG.
I never thought I'd find a game that was an interesting mix of Visual Novel with SRPG, and on top of that, it's set in an alternate 1920's with stream-powered tech and mechs. Now THAT is something you don't see everyday. And it works. I've played the first two chapters as of this review, and the game is quite fun. Valkryia Chronicles seems to have borrowed (and modified) some great combat elements that this game has in it. If you like SRPG's, Visual Novels, anime characters and storylines, this is a good game to get. I didn't give it the 5th star due to some glitches with the mid-battle save feature, but as long as you don't use it in the Wii version, things seem to be fine. And I have to mention Gemini Sunrise to end this review. She's such a cool character, she's got a great Texas-accent, and she's strong willed and powerful, but with flaws, and of course, very attractive. She's the big draw to me far as the characters in this game. If the price is in your range, and the game looks good from gameplay vids and reading reviews, I say dive in and get it, it's very cool.
