Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi (Japanese)

I bought this as a present for my brother, who doesn't know Japanese, but who loved the English release of Sengoku Basara 3. This game is amazing! A huge character roster, excellent graphics, music, and stage design, coupled with gameplay that's both complex and accessible make this an extremely high-quality game. I was there to translate for my brother, but the language barrier wasn't that big of a problem for players willing to consult online guides for crafting weapons, or to follow visual clues to understand the story. This game is a must-have for fans of Japanese history, wild Japanese-game-show-like minigames, or fans of hack-and-slash games with fast, fluid, and surprisingly tactical action.

As expected before purchasing, (As I have been a long time fan of this franchise) the game does not take itself seriously as it remembers it's a game first.

Despite being an English speaker, I am well aware what occurs most of the time and enjoy the insanity.
There's never a dull moment, if you can get past the language barrier, buy it.

if you like dynasty warriors and the likes you'll love this game, the gameplay is smooth as hell, the game is very easy to pick up, you don't need to know japanese to enjoy it.

I can only read hiragana so I'm lost to the meaning of most of the written stuff. But I love this game just like I loved the ones that came before, out of all the games of this genre I feel basara has always done it best. The characters are likeable, even the ones that annoy you will still lure you into liking them. If you liked any of the dynasty warriors or samurai warriors then you will want this in your collection, It's worth it.

Plus this gives me so much more reasons to pick up learning kanji again. Can't wait for the yukimura arc coming soon....

Great game! Required expansion for those who already own the previous version, as there are a huge variety of characters to choose from, and some unpublished. There are new ways to follow the story, new moves and features, and new openings, closures and sequences in anime. A must see!
