Finally a good use of the Switch touch screen.
Good RPG with that tradition turn based combat. I was really having a good time with the story. Even though it may be a bit campy... I enjoyed it till the end. Combat was also enjoyable and exciting. In all RPGs leveling up is pretty standard...... but not here. (in hand held mode) the game has a very unique system which takez

Cute and funny jokes aside, this is a wonderful game!
This was originally released as Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates for the PlayStation Vita in 2016, but only in Japan. Thanks to Eastasiasoft, the we now get to enjoy this superbly fun and deep RPG on the Switch!

Surprisingly Good
Got it more for the novelty than anything but ended up really enjoying it. It was just a fun little game that didn't take itself too seriously.

The dungeons are very basic and only two of them really even count as dungeons in the traditional sense with any real exploration or winding paths. It's even more noticeable when the game forces you to go back to every dungeon. You have to go back to the same spot where the boss is fought the first time around and it's pretty much a straight shot to it even in the dungeon with winding paths. The monsters don't scale on your return trip which sucks but with how linear the dungeons are, it doesn't really matter.

The level up mechanics are a little...odd but you technically don't even need to bother with the mechanics much. Messing with the mechanics too much only has some visual effects on the character models in and out of battle and changes the percentage of the stat distribution which isn't all that noticeable. Sometimes I wonder what the speed stat is even for though as it wasn't always guaranteed that the fastest moves first or that they get their next turn quicker. That's even with one of the characters having a skill that allows them to get more turns quicker. Sometimes it seems like it works while others it doesn't.

Each girl does a few different things differently. Two have target all attacks. One or two deliver status ailments and debuffs. One or two can absorb some damage dealt back as HP. Most have some way to boost extra damage after their first standard attack as a smaller split attack or allows for another attack all together. Some do both. There are spells that do most of those things that they all have access to as well. I was just trying to go over what each girl can do on their own with their own skills and such.

The battle system is pretty basic. There's a few factors in play that change up damage calculations but it wasn't really noticeable to me. Something about the colors of the pheromones or something. There's three colors and they do the triangle thing we're all used to now. Battles aren't very difficult except at first due to only having one character. But that's literally only for the first "dungeon" as you get more characters one right after the other right after that. There are a few boss battles that can be challenging. There's one "superboss" battle with four similar characters to you which is fairly difficult. You can even keep battling them too which is pretty cool. Shame that the dungeon they're in is literally a 1:1 copy of the second dungeon but at least it has upgraded monsters in it.

I think the most annoying thing in the game would be the finding of the little helpers. They're tied into the store, the crafting and the universally used spells. You have to find them. Sometimes by just wandering around with your ship in the water. There's hints as well but it can get pretty annoying. There's 25 each of three different kinds of helpers. So 75 total. They're also found in eggs. Eggs are something that can be dropped after battle and you'll have to use the leveling mechanic to open them. Each color egg seems to contain at least one helper in it. So you'll have to get quite a few eggs and open them in order to find them all. They're in the "ultra rare" pulls and should be either the first or second of those pulls that you'll get. So not too annoying. It's just that the eggs sometimes don't contain anything depending on how you use the leveling mechanic.

The leveling mechanic. I keep skirting the issue huh? It's boobs. You play with their boobs. You either use the analog sticks different ways or you use the touchscreen. You can making them bigger/smaller, firmer, softer, perkier and can even change their placement up and down on the chest to some degree and also to the sides. Adjusting these levels will change the stat distribution percentage. You have 100% split four ways into hit points, attack, defense and speed. The boobs stats control the percentages. However you can't get 100% into one stat. The most I've done is 0% in one, 10 % in another and then the rest split between two other stats which seems to be the minimum that two stats can be at any time. Adjusting the boob's stats will change the character models and their portraits. There is a minimum and maximum size for each girl regardless of the cup size listed. A naturally big boobed girl will still be big even if the size stat is listed as A. Conversely a small boobed girl will still be small even if the size says O.

Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I don't mean in "that" way. Decent all around and easy to get into. Was good enough in every way to sink time into and play all the way through. The game ended just before it overstayed its welcome too.
