description

For photographer Ben (Joshua Jackson) and his new wife Jane (Rachael Taylor), his new assignment — a lucrative fashion shoot in Tokyo — was supposed to be a kind of working honeymoon. With this exotic professional opportunity and the limitless possibilities of a new marriage, Ben and Jane arrive in Japan. But as they make their way on a mountain road leading to Mt. Fuji, their new life together comes to, literally, a crashing halt. Their car smashes into a woman standing in the middle of the road, who has materialized out of nowhere. Upon regaining consciousness after the accident, Ben and Jane cannot find any trace of the girl Jane believes she hit with the car

Truly scary, even unsubbed
The first time I saw this was when I had a foreign exchange student over for the night. This freaked me out big time. Even though he was translating it to me from Thai, it was still scary. It\'s like a mix of Ringu and Juon. The same white-bodied looking girl, a similar (but not too similar it\'s boring) plot, scary scenes, cameras, ghosts--everything good in an Asian film!!

future remake usa??
I sense this will probably be remade in America sometime in the near future! I think this film has a very \"American\" feel to it to begin with. Shutter is well made overall, and the subtitles are very good. Ananda Everingham (Tun) is tooo cute! I think the story definitely has it\'s uniqueness to it, but there is something a bit familiar and bland about it. It\'s a good flick, but it won\'t give you that feeling that you got the first time you saw Ju-On or whatever. I don\'t think they really used the scares to their peak potential in this one.

Great movie
I rate this very good because it\'s really scary unlike any other asian horror (or american) movie nowadays. I recommend it.

Hey you horror lovers
I was going to buy this movie, but my friend got it for me..plus other asians movies..This movie is fantastic..I do not get bored seeing it time and time again. This movie is well written. and the actors did an excelent job with their charectors...It\'s about this poor girl who fell in love with the wrong guy..a guy name Tun. See; all his friends including him thought she was weird, when she wasen\'t..she was a real shy girl who kept to her self. Tun, felt sorry for her, and started dating her without anyone knowing it. Tun didn\'t want his friends to laugh at him..and I don\'t understand that, cause the girl is not even ugly...Anyway, he realize he wasen\'t in love with her, and when he booted her out of his life in a worst way...she intern was going to commit suicide.
So instead of Tun taking matters in his own hands, and being patient with her..he sent his friends to deal with it...so he said.
anyway, time went on..Now Tun was a proffetional Photographer...and he even had a new girlfriend, Jane. One day, Tun and Jane was driving home from a party, and they hit a girl..Tun insisted that Jane leave the scene. and she does..but poor Jane was not feeling good about it and decided to investigate if the girl died. All they found out, is that there was nothing mention about a girl run over..anywhere.
Anyway, soon Tun picks up his pictures from his friend shop..and he notice that all the pictures had a white streek, and he also notice a face of a girl who you could not really see, because her hair..was hidding most of her face. Now, your thinking \"yea, that\'s the girl they run over\"..Well, yes and no..is more to it than that..and that\'s where the movie gets real interesting. All I can say is that, they notice a lot of things going on..really weird things..it got so bad, that Jane, being the smartest one..decided to find out more about it. and she did. But what she found out, made her sick to her stomach. All of Tun friends died..all three of them. and he was not feeling well himself..neck aches..headaches..and being spook left and right...This is where I stop..I can\'t tell you everything..But I will say this, it\'s a movie to get and see..I give it 10 stars. Good job you guys! this movie is next to the \"Ju-on\" movie.
