  • Players can run on foot or take to the skies with a jetpack or hovering skateboard-like device to dodge enemy attacks or get a better lock on their targets
  • Players can fire at targets in the distance or switch to sword attacks for close-range targets
  • The Wii Remote™ controller’s pointing ability is used to aim weapons, while the Nunchuk™ controller is used for positioning and maneuvering
  • Numerous beautifully rendered settings include gorgeous cityscapes and dramatic underwater tunnels, all populated by fierce enemies
  • It’s all about the multiplier. The better a player’s skills, the more points are earned, and the bigger the bonus. Players will want to play the game again and again to beat their personal best on each level. The better the performance, the bigger the multiplier and the higher the final score

Players engage in nonstop shooter action as they’re propelled through this on-rails game. Isa and Kachi are being hunted. They go on the run and on the defensive. And they shoot everything. Sin & Punishment™ 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the Japanese Nintendo 64™ cult-classic shooter. It brings a frantic arcade sensibility to a post-apocalyptic world. Fans who can’t wait for the sequel can replay the original game by downloading it from the Virtual Console™ section of the Wii™ Shop Channel.

Real Treasure!
Another great shooter from Treasure, but what else did you expect. Playing on the rails like the love child of Panzer Dragoon and Nam 1975, Sin and Punishment 2 is a great sequel to the N64 exclusive classic.

The original had the player grounded, but the sequel gives the ability to fly creating a crazier game with more flexible tactics. Controls are like the original, there's a choice of free-fire and lock on as well as the ability to knock back certain projectiles at enemies (an essential skill to beat most bosses. Like most Treasure titles the game is full of boss battles that are a great deal of fun and often have different ways to win, blast the weak spot or take it apart for a higher score multiplier.

One disappointing aspect is that the characters and enemy design is not of Treasure's usual high calibre, whether compared to the original or some of their other titles like Gunstar Heroes or Radiant Silvergun. The main characters look like freaky cousins of 'The Riddlers' (UK kids show from the late 90s).

All in all this game comes highly recommended to shooter fans, high score addicts or those seeking a fast game they can play for short bursts of time. If you are a long time Treasure fan you've probably already bought it. If not you'll find all the mechanics of a great Treasure title, though I feel some of the charm is missing from this one (maybe because it's a sequel and not a new concept like usual - we are spoilt).

It's a shame that more games like this don't see the light of day in these times. There's something reassuring about gliding through a series of unintelligible landscapes as you negate all threats. Not since the days of the Nameless Ones in Forgotten Worlds have I felt so at peace. Ya. Hooooo. ++
