Pretty solid sniping/stealth game with some bugs
I've been interested in the "Sniper Elite" and "Sniper: Ghost Warrior" series for quite a while. Actually, until recently, I thought they were both part of the same series. This is the first game from either one that I actually played and I really enjoyed it. It was more stealth-focused than I expected; a lot of the combat takes place in close enough proximity to take enemies down with melee. Each mission is large enough to have multiple fast travel points, making it almost feel like an open world game. After completing one contract within a mission, you can go to an exfiltration point to either end that run of the mission and get credit for the completed contract(s) or keep going with the option to swap out your equipment. On easier difficulties, you can use a red dot on your scope to see where your shot should go after taking gravity and wind into account. This version of the game comes with an extra DLC mission, some extra weapons, and an extra camo all included on the disc, so there's no worry about any codes expiring.

I have two complaints worth noting. First, there are some bugs. Your character will likely get stuck at least a few times throughout your playthrough, which can usually (but not always) be fixed by just switching weapons. I got in a situation once where the last enemy I needed to defeat for a challenge was stuck in a wall. I also had a few instances where the enemy AI seemed to get "confused" and they would just stand in place unless I was directly in front of them. There were other bugs, but nothing that makes the game unplayable.

My second complaint is the lack of a manual save. I found it quite annoying having to rely on autosaves. Sometimes my game would give me three autosaves within a minute or two and sometimes I'd play for over 15 minutes without one. Trying to trigger them manually myself was annoying too. Of course, this probably isn't an issue if you're the "hardcore" type that doesn't want to rely on saves.

Overall, I enjoyed it and I'd recommend it. I can't really compare it to the other games in the series since I haven't played them.
