Wii version
NOTE - the Japanese version has an English language option, like (most/all?) other Sonic Team titles.

I haven't enjoyed a Sonic game since the original Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast but found this to be a return to form. The game is fast and has what I have been wanting from a Sonic title.

Colourful environments that I can run through at ultra speeds without frustration. Gone are the stupid camera decisions and instant death bugs of previous Sonic games. It's almost like Yuji Naka returned to show them how it should be done.

Some may dislike the lack of challenge the game presents, but there's plenty of replay value as the small alien creatures Sonic rescues give additional powers allowing the player to return and find new routes.

All in all, I've been very surprised with this title, it's not as good as the original Megadrive titles (1 and 2 are my favourite Sonic games), but it has shown that with some effort Sega can still do it. More of this please Sega!!!

Just Plain Amazing
It plays like the day stages of Sonic Unleashed with some improved classic elements of early Sonic games from Genesis. Besides speed and platforming, Color Powers are also introduced and added to the mix. Outstanding graphics details and sweet soundtracks are surely in there too.

In spite of its easy learning curve, the replayability presents the challenges of collecting Special Rings and achieving S ranks in each stage. As the reward of the Special Rings' complete collection, a very welcome feature that major fans have longed for will soon become available.

An excellent title with simple story but most importantly, fun gameplay.
