Sony reveals first concept images of their upcoming PlayStation Portable™ (PSP™) system

Finally, Sony has revealed the very first pictures of their end of next year's expected handheld debut - the PlayStation Portable™ (or shorter PSP™).

Just like almost every Sony device, the unit looks very sleek and reminds a little bit between a mixture of a digitial camera and PDA. The screen itself features a 4.5" (11.4cm) 16:9 LCD and the UMD drive is located on the back of the system. Additionally there is a snap-on cover and keychain hole with a hand lanyard attached.

Further Sony has announced that the PSP™ is not expected to become available as one single platform, but various models with slightly different functionalities (and probably different design) are going to be released.

Additionally, Sony is considering to integrate a telecomunication possibility to offer the ability to download music videos.

Sony's PSP™ is expected to be released end of 2004. Play-Asia will accept preorders upon official announcement. Please subscribe to our personal agent on the PSP™ product page to receive an e-mail notification as soon as preorders are being taken.
