description

In the distant future, the nearly-defeated forces of humanity lose a major battle to evil alien invaders the Gamilas, retreating back to a radiation-soaked, nigh-uninhabitable Earth, where they hatch one last-ditch scheme to save the population with a toxin-killing device supposedly sent from a benevolent species, located on the distant planet Iscandar. Earth's last hope is the giant star-cruising battleship Yamato; armed with a wave motion cannon capable of destroying massive Gamilas ships, the Yamato is launched with a ragtag crew including angsty hotshot Susumu Kodai, stoic bearded captain Okita, and spunky fighter pilot Yuki. The Yamato must race against time and across treacherous space to find this mysterious device and defeat the insidious Gamilas.特別收錄:大和號出沒注意!視覺概念預覽視覺特效拆解

Great Flim All Around
When I heard this was going to released as a live action film I was pretty excited. Unfortunately it has yet to see an American release so I was happy to order it from here. The only negative thing I can say about the film is that despite knowing the characters, the overall plot is somewhat one dimensional but overall, it is a good solid science fiction film about survival.

Great adaption
Space Battleship Yamoto is a great adaption of the great 70s and 80s cartoon I grew up watching. Recommended if you want to relive your childhood or want a decent sci-fi movie out of Japan.

Wow!
I grew up watching "Star Blazers" back in the 1970's, which was the Americanized version of Uchuu Senkan Yamato. What a treat to see this live action film! I felt like I had experienced it all over again. A must see for any fan of the animation, plus a solidly entertaining film for any viewer.
