Starfox: Assualt both delivers but somewhat dissapoints.
The first Starfox game I\'ve ever played was SF64, it was awesome and I eagerly awaited the next installment. Starfox Adventures on the other hand, I had mixed feelings. I loved all of Rare\'s games, but they just did not focus enough on the action instead of the endless item-collecting.

Now Starfox: Assault arrives. Co-developed by Namco, I was certain it promised incredible space combat. It does. The visiuals are among the best of the \'Cube\'s capabilities. Plus there are plenty of unlockables, which I greatly enjoy in my games.

But, now onto the cons...
The voice-acting is very-good. That is, they chose the voices well. Slippy finally no longer sounds like a girl, Krystal\'s soft tone is quite alluring, Falco\'s New-Yorkern accent perfectly fits his attitude. But the dialogue could have had more thought into it. Some of the one-liners are awful and somewhat akward.

The game offers three difficulty levels, but the adundance of weapons and health on some levels rather sugarcoats the challenge.

SF64 offered 15 levels. Star Fox Adventures had over 20 reigons of Dinosaur Planet, but Star Fox: Assualt offers only TEN! Why make such a beautiful game so damn short?! It shocked me when the credits started rolling. In a way, this is good because it proves that they\'re not re-hashing old enemies by reviving Andross once again, but it\'s so short, it\'s unbearable!

In conclusion, Starfox: Assualt is a short but sweet gaming experience that redfines both ground and air combat. I\'m definitely looking forward fot the next installment.

When the Nintendo Revolution comes around next year, I\'ll hopefully be able to download the SNES Starfox that I couldn\'t play before. I know I can count on Play-Asia.com to get it before American stores do. You guys are the best!

Starfox - He\'s Back (With horrible voice acting?????)
Star Fox: Assault got a lot of hype before it was released, for one because a many people (including myself) were a bit disappointed with Star Fox Adventures\' lack of the space rail ship shooting that we got from the first 2( 3 counting SF2) games, and two, because it was being developed by Namco.

Now to the review part. I started the game, when I noticed the music was really scratchy, obviously meant only for surround sound. But then I realized, its not the game, it\'s the GOD-AWFUL voice acting. I mean, for Christ\'s sake, Slippy sounds like a friggen girl!? But fortunately, the games cool opening graphics made up for it. There is a multiplayer mode, and a secret unlockable arcade game, along with the single player mode. There are 2 modes for single player, story and survivor. Story is the regular play through the missions mode and Survivor is a mode giving you 2 lives and seeing how long you can last and get the highest score.

Onto the gameplay. The game starts, showing off the GC\'s great graphics capabilities (bout TIME), the game plays pretty much like the first 2, up down left right, shoot, bombs, and the charge up from SF64. The boss modes are also very retro and appealing to the hardcore SF, especially the first one. But one of the coolest things new here in SF:A is the ability to get out of your Arwing and switch between vehicles, even fight missions on foot! (A la the unlockable on foot multiplayer in SF64) Sadly, you can only do this on about 3 or 4 levels. But what\'s even more depressing is the fact that the game only has 10 levels... Mind you it does have a somewhat large amount of multiplayer unlockables, but this is EXCEEDINGLY little compared to the first 2. A grievous mistake which definitely disappointed many.

As well, the story (which I won\'t divulge here for spoiler purposes) seems a little thrown together, with a bit more structuring and plot development needed, but otherwise interesting.

Overall I would have to give this a 6/10.
A good try, but just not measuring up to the standards set by its predecessors.

Starfox:assault! cute but stupid!
Starfox assault was never on my highest list of most exciting games i was looking forward too! but over the week before i got it it was turning out to be the opposite! I read reviews, dowloaded the movies and watched in amazment at the awsome graphics! SF:Assault is a beautiful game! character models, vehicle models, landscapes all top stuff! I got it in a few days time and i was excited, i played the first level and destroyed the boss, all was great! Then i was thrown on a foot mission, niiice i was looking forward to this so that i could make my own mind up wether it was just as fun or not! (in the reviews they said the on foot missions where a loada crap) and to an extent they where right! I was starting to have fun blowing the crap out of the \"aparoid scum\" but then you come to realize after a while that it just isn\'t quiet right! theirs something not there that should be! Your shooting tens of enimies at a time but its just shallow for some reason! If there was just something more to it, that little something extra! The game is actually quite enjoyable if you overlook little niggles here an there or if you\'ve played ANY of the starfox games in the past! But for new comers this just won\'t cut it, which is a shame coz starfox is one of my favourite series\' and i hate to see it go down this road!
