Classic, great fun
Just like the original version on the Playstation, but with an all-star cast (Japanese version) to back it up.

The story is a bit disjointed at times, forgetting things that happen in one location when moving to the next, but everything else about it is incredible. The private action system in towns really helps to flesh out the characters and their relationships and forcing you to make an occasional difficult decision to advance those relationships. The effects on the ending also makes the private actions feel a lot more important to the story and its outcome.

The battle system is a fast paced (or can be slower if you so choose) with a lot of action, but still keeping tactical play relevant. You won't win every battle rushing headlong into the enemy and that adds to the depth of play. Being able to select what characters you choose to be in battle and being able to change to any current battle characters on the fly adds another level of depth and strategy.

Highly recommended from a long time fan of the series.
