"The Dragon Creek" has an epic sweep, nice cinematography, and lovely music to accompany its involving story. Unfortunately, the pacing of the movie is peculiar. It seems to dawdle over events which prove inessential to the story, only to resolve the film's climactic moment far too abruptly. I believe that the movie's 93 minute running time probably should have been extended to about 110 minutes to let the climax play out in a less forced and more dramatic manner. Nonetheless, "The Dragon Creek" is well worth watching to see Cheng Pei Pei's commanding performance.
