Two great games and one bad one.
The king of fighters: NESTS collects the three games that makes up the NESTS saga focusing on the though guy main character K' on his path to get revenge on the organization that destroyed his life.

KOF '99: while it doesn't have the biggest roster,
the presentation is exellent! with memorable stages that change as the fight progresses, one of the best soundtracks to date in a KOF game as well as great artwork, kof '99 is still worth going back to.

KOF 2000: My personal all time favorite kof, unlike '99, the roster in this installment is huge! the stages aren't quite as memorable as '99's, but the music and artwork is just as good, or maybe even better!

KOF 2001: the black sheep of the franchise,
while 2001 has a good roster, the presentation is nothing short of horrible. With ugly artwork, stages that hurts the eye and music than consists mainly of rythm-less garbage trying to pass itself of as a KOF soundtrack, this is deffinetly the weakest installemnt to date.

Still, this collection is well worth the buy, as '99 and 2000 is just two really great games, and getting them both in one package is nothing short of a bargain!
it's not like you have to play 2001 anyways.

Okay if you liked the 99 - 2k1 era
If you liked the NESTS saga, you'll like this. If you want a KOF history lesson, wait until the "SNK The Best" version comes out (cheaper). The three titles on this CD are pretty well emulated. The controls are a little stiff, and the presentation isn't as good as in the Orochi collection. 99 evo in particular is not that great (poorly ripped right from the dreamcast version). The loading screens are disgusting and look like they were done in MSPaint. There is an option to play the original Neo Geo mode, which isn't as smooth, but has an English language option and is almost perfectly emulated. Why the English option wasn't included in the main versions, I have no idea.

As for the games, they're not exactly classics, but they are enjoyable. 2k1 is the game Eolith created after it took the reigns from SNK after their fall. 2k1 has some pretty great characters that, according to SNK Playmore, you will most likely never see in a KOF game again.

These are the transition games between old school KOF and new school KOF, and deserve to be played by any KOF fan.

Not The King of Fighters 2002!
Bad error! This version not include the game The King of Fighters 2002. Only 3 games are on this compilation: The King of Fighters 99/2000/2001. This compilation Sux! SNK/PLAYMORE, don\'t try tris again, ok?
