Item Description
In a gender-bendering turn, Shaws' supreme star, Ivy Ling Po, plays the scholar who tries to seduce the sprite-like servant, played by "Baby Movie Queen" Li Ching, the youngest star to ever be named Best Actress. The result was number four hit of 1969.

good VCD
I really enjoyed this movie and the VCD quality was just fine watching it on my computer.

Very good blu ray
This is my favorite of the Shaw Brothers huangmei opera cycle. Sadly it is just about the final film of that cycle. The standard DVD which came out in 2002 was widescreen but not anamorphic, so the image only took up a quarter of my TV screen. This blu ray fills my 60 inch screen handsomely. The image is very nice, the colors are nice, not too eye-popping like many complained about the digital restorations ten years ago. I am so glad I took the plunge and bought the blu ray. I can proudly show this film to my uninitiated friends.
