Dragon Age 2... sorry... I mean The Witcher 2...
This game has an interesting story, but the actual game mechanics are quite poor in my opinion. Moving feels awkward and I rarely feel immersed in the world. For example, having to get to a meeting point on a map I was unable to to go any way I liked. I couldn't swim, I couldn't, jump over small rocks, I couldn't go through the trees... I HAD to stick to the path! Of course, there were conveniently placed 'random' bandits waiting. Boring.

Climbing rocks and dropping down is all done via the 'A' button. Basically, this is a game that holds your hand and gives you (false) freedom to move around in a small box rather than just giving you the world and saying... "Well, there you go. Do what you want."

The story is interesting, but it is badly narrated by some, below-average, teenage comedian which entirely destroys the idea that this is some grim, epic, adventure. I just wish I had the opportunity to turn him off. Just like I wish I could head out into the world and explore without being pushed to go where the game wants through limited choice.

Despite this, I feel the graphics are decent and the changing of time is very well handled and not overly fast as in some other games. The menus are slick even if a little frustrating to navigate at times, but being a PC port that has been done well enough.

All in all, The Witcher 2 is a game that reminds me very much of the "Dragon Age" series, particularly DA:2. If you prefer the complete freedom of say "The Elder Scrolls" series then this may be a little disappointing.
