PlayStation®3 Xbox360™ [RPG]

After the success of its predecessors, Piranha Bytes, the creators of the Risen series, is ready to launch the newest and third installment, Risen 3: Titan Lords!

Experience the game’s hand-crafted role-playing world full of rugged charm where every decision and action corresponds to a consequence. Similar to the preceding iterations in the series, Risen 3 will contain “freedom to explore” the world which promises to be “diverse, authentic and full of life.”

The world created for Risen 3: Titan Lords is one abandoned by all the gods and now faces anguish due to the Titan War. Players will take on the role of a young warrior that fearlessly sets off on a quest to retrieve his lost soul amidst the spreading of darkness and evil all over the word. To make the quest successful, the warrior needs to find and seek the help of very powerful Mages. These Mages are protected by the Guardians in their sanctuary on Taranis, also known as the Island of Thunder. To reach them, players must choose which guild to join to reach and accomplish this epic journey.

PlayStation®3 [Strategy]

In XCOM: Enemy Unknown, you are put in control of a secret paramilitary organization known as XCOM, and as commander it is your responsibility to defend against a terrifying global invasion of aliens. Success hinges on resource management, technology advancements, and most importantly securing victories through superior combat tactics.

XCOM is the re-imagining of the classic tale of humanity’s struggle against an unknown enemy that puts players directly into the shoes of an FBI agent tasked with identifying and eliminating the growing threat. True to the roots of the franchise, players will be placed in charge of overcoming high-stake odds through risky strategic gambits coupled with heart-stopping combat experiences that pit human ingenuity – and frailty – against a foe beyond comprehension. By setting the game in a first-person perspective, players will be able to feel the tension and fear that comes with combating a faceless enemy that is violently probing and plotting its way into our world.

XboxONE™ [Sports / Fighting]

The Fighter Within shines the brightest in it's ability to begin showing off the graphical intensity of the Xbox ONE. Enter a brutal, physical, and simaltaneously liberating world where real time wounds, sweat, and facial impacts are all a part of the extreme arena environments you must battle it out in.

The main controls for the game do make use of the Kinect, and that is where most gamers will be polarized. The Fighter Within is definitely a unique experience, and plays the way a mashup between a Fitness game and a simple fighter might. While not 100% flawless the Kinect controls have improved leaps and bounds with the Xbox ONE.

There is definitely something that can be said for the fun you can have shadowboxing on your own in the living room, or at the very least it is a fun party game (like many Kinect games tend to be) excuse to throw a few fake punches at your friends!

Xbox360™ [Action Horror]

Lollipop Chainsaw is a humorously violent story of a sweet and dangerous zombie-hunter, Juliet Starling, on an epic quest to uncover the cause of a colossal zombie outbreak! With her equal parts dangerous and awesome chainsaw in hand Juliet slices, dices, and splits her way through hordes of the undead - with the help of her disembodied head of a boyfriend 'Nick'.

She soon realizes that the horde is even worse than your normal run of the mill zombies, and is just the opening act to a festival of zombie 'Rock Lords' determined to stop the chainsaw-wielding cheerleader by any means necessary.

From developers Goichi Suda and Grasshopper Manufacture (aka the legendary 'SUDA 51') comes a title that has created insane levels cult following, hype, and interest since its release. A charming protagonist, a slightly cheesey story, and a whole lot of gore are the necessary ingredients to this horror-themed hack and slash.

PlayStation®Vita [Dungeon Crawl / Hack + Slash / Horror]

Join a team of players to brave the endless horrors of the Silent Hill universe! For the first time in the franchise's history, Book of Memories transitions the focus from psychological horror to cooperative play. Book of Memories evokes quite a strong dungeon crawler feel, and despite mixed critical reviews the title has been well received by fans of the franchise.  Gamers are given the choice to customize their own character.

Connection is the key, when players carve their path to survival they will need to rely on the camaraderie of their fellow teammates in order to overcome the bloodchilling atmosphere of their new prison.

While elements of the horror genre are definitely sacrificed, Silent Hill: Book of Memories is a complete and fun hack and slash/dungeon crawler that evokes atmospheres from the franchise.
