WRC: FIA World Rally Championship 4
description
Following the path taken with the previous chapter of the series, WRC 4 will feature a new amazing mix of elements with high graphical detail and real in-game sound. The main characteristics that will be included into this new game are: loyalty to the license, exciting game experience, accessibility for first-time players and a dynamic and competitive online game mode.Among new features of this 2013 edition, players will have the chance to experience new lighting conditions, new weather effects depending on the stage, a brand new Career Mode to put the player into real driver's shoes. Realism and immersion are two of the most important pillars of the development, with impressive 3D environments and an HDR system that will grant the best in-game performance.WRC 4 features all the rallies from the 2013 WRC calendar, complete with all leading WRC teams and drivers in the revamped career mode to turn players into real WRC drivers. WRC 4 also features an improved version of the graphics engine, called Spikengine, launched last year.

The handling of the car is more realistic than arcade, which may take some time to get used to and requiring the user to use the break and the hand break to make it round sharp corners. This is part of the fun.
Underestimating a corner may mean that you under or over steer and may cause you to go over and out of the road areas. This is where you would normal use something like a “replace” to put the car back into the center of the road, this is where WRC has their interesting “rewind” style feature where you can rewind your moves and then start before it was messed up to take that corner again, and save time on the important clock.
Loading times are the biggest issue, loading between races can seem like a long time, but even short loading for the service areas takes a little too long.
Although there is a quick mode, which will randomly choose a car and a stage – good for handing to your friends to check out the game, most of the time you’ll be using career mode. Although let down with an uninspired interface featuring emails from various characters, you’ll not be spending too much time here, it’s really in the race that we should be caring about.
Hopefully this balanced review can help your choice of picking this up. I’ve put plenty of time on this since I go this a few weeks ago
