Item Description

One by one, companies have been producing their own survival horror games, putting mild twists on the standard “destroy the zombies” experience. But it feels as if the developers at Irem saw these games and thought the genre needed something truly unique. So they made Zettai Zetsumei Toshi, literally meaning “desolate town.”

ZZT is one of a kind, best summed up as a survival action adventure earthquake simulation game. The game begins peacefully on a nice day in the year 2005 on a new land mass made from a garbage heap, much like modern day Tokyo Bay. Trains are running, people are walking, and it feels like a typical day in Japan - until a massive earthquake shakes the land.

The definitive disaster survival game.
Given Japan's long history of being hit and rising from disasters, it's a wonder why a game like this didn't come out until the PS2 era.

Zettai Zetsumei Toshi is one of a kind in the survival front. Rather than confronting a horde of monsters or zombies, you are faced with the gargantuan task of outwitting Mother Nature, cooperating with other survivors, and making crucial decisions that will alter the course of the game and ultimately decide your fate.
