The protagonist of the game is Shantae. She’s in deep sleep suddenly she wakes up, and she’s alert. She runs into the moonlit forest searching for answers. Nearby her hometown, she goes to her uncle’s home. As she enters, she discovers a mysterious trapdoor. Curiosity kills the cat, she opens the door to see what’s behind on this trapdoor. She discovers radiating subterranean cavern. Suddenly, a familiar voice calls her, so Shantae rushes to the beautiful fountain. She touches the water of the fountain. She immediately spirited away to the fabled Genie Realm. A powerful evil seeks to escape, she suddenly awakes and she wants to discover the truth behind this dream.

Here’s a brief background of the protagonist:

She whips her hair back and forth! Uses her trademark moves, whipping hair to kill the enemies as she goes on an adventure! Dance with her powerful belly dance moves to transform into all-new and classic creatures and summon magical attacks! Play with her gang to defeat the evil Risky Boots!
