The cartoon baseball game is back on Sony gaming consoles this April 2019. Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2018 (実況パワフルプロ野球 2018) is coming to Japan on PlayStation 4 with use of PlayStation VR, and it’s coming soon to PlayStation Vita as well. Ready to play ball? Another bat-and-ball game for these chibi players! For a brief background of baseball or yakyū in Japanese: Baseball is played between two teams of nine players. Each team will take turns in batting and fielding. In batting, the team must score runs by hitting the ball with a bat and must running counter-clockwise around the four bases.

In the 2018 edition, this game includes Pawafuru Festival. This mode is where the players battle in a tournament against Success characters of the successive generations. The place of the battle is in a passenger boat named “Queen of Festival.” Also in this edition, the roulette decides all. The roulette decides the conditions for befriending characters from the opposing characters and the team for the field without a designated hitter.

Konami announces that the 2018 edition of Jikkyou Powerful Pro adds another announcer to Hideo Doumae, Hisashi Shimizu, and Muneatsu Atsumori. However, the announcer’s name is not yet revealed. Ohh! An element of thrill and surprise for Powerful Pro fans out there!

• New Players are Instantly Supported – Drafts, free agents, and transfers that happened after the 2017 season are also supported. The latest player data will be recorded and there will be updated as necessary
• Turning Points – During a Live Scenario, missions can be challenged from the “turning points” that influence each game. Missions will have several clear conditions. Games during the pennant race and playoff scenarios will also be distributed
• Ranking – Clearing a mission will calculate your score. Things such as getting a batter out, throwing nice pitches, and your batting record will strengthen your score. Aim to earn the top score on the nationwide ranking
