For the overview, this is a visual novel and the updated version of the 2009 game Steins;Gate. In Steins;Gate Elite, it will use all the footages from the anime series. It will also be along with the newly produced animation for the visual novel that is not adapted in the anime. The main goal of this game is you make choices which cause the story to branch out to a different story to lead in a different ending.
The game takes place in Summer 2010 in Akihabara, Tokyo. It follows the male protagonist Rintaro Okabe. He’s a self-proclaimed mad scientist. He also runs the Future Gadget Laboratory. While attending a conference about time travel, he finds the corpse of Kurisu Makise. In an unexpected turn of events, he discovers that Kurisu is still alive. The laboratory members learn that the cell phone-operated microwave oven they are developing can actually go back in time. With this phenomena, they investigate it along Kurisu.
The concept of cause and effect is prominent in the game especially the protagonist travels back through time to perform different actions. Yes, you read it right. The concept of time and the notion of time travel is evident as the central theme of this game.
