Gamescom 2018 has been quite an experience so far. From hands-on full gaming experience, tons of loot from various big publishers and developers booths, and of course, the most awaited revelations from the big names in the industry of gaming.
It may not be as big as E3, but it still quenches the thirst of every player around the globe for the latest gaming news. In fact, Gamescom serves as a follow up for the announcements that were being made at E3.
This year’s Gamescom was indeed a very good year for Europe’s biggest gaming event. Many of the largest publishers and developers in the industry shared new trailers, updates and exciting announcements for some of their biggest forthcoming titles.
A lot of announcements have been made in the event and it is quite tough to sort through it all as to what your best pick is. That’s why we at Play-Asia.com, gathered all the biggest announcements that we love and compiled it in a list just for you.

Shenmue III is the “almost forgotten” game after its reveal at E3 2015. But, after so many delays, Shenmue III finally got its firm release date. At Gamescom 2018, August 21, 2018, the same day Shenmue I & II released, the team developers of Yu Suzuki shared a video to the public announcing Shenmue III’s official release date.
This game is starting to feel real, folks!
For sure, many of the Shenmue fans are absolutely stoked about the possibility of resolving Ryo’s story of vengeance on August 27 next year. Well, hopefully, the development team behind this most anticipated game will meet their promised release date.
Alongside the release date, the new trailer also teased the narrative direction of Shenmue III and it is very intriguing and exciting at the same time. But of course, we are deeply hoping for more trailers and gameplay reveals in the next coming months.

For the first time in history, the greatest heroes and villains from the Manga/Anime world are thrown into a whole new battleground: the real world. Welcome to JUMP FORCE!
In celebration of the famous Weekly Jump Magazine’s 50th Anniversary, Bandai Namco has announced JUMP FORCE for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. Since then, JUMP FORCE has been the most anticipated Bandai Namco game of 2019.
And to stir everyone’s excitement, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed a new gameplay trailer for the game at this year’s Gamescom. The trailer unveiled the six iconic names from Hunter X Hunter, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z that will join the roster of Jump Force.
Plus, the publisher also announced the details for the online experience of the game as well as the new stage for the game, the Namek Stage. If you’re not familiar with it, Namek Stage is from the Dragon Ball Z Universe where Goku and Frieza battled.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Nvidia Trailer
During Gamescom 2018, the American technology, Nvidia Corporation, which is known as the world leader in visual computing technologies and inventor of high-performance processors, revealed their new GTX 2080 Ti graphics card.
Nvidia is known for developing world-class processors that generate breathtaking interactive graphics on workstations, personal computers, game consoles, and mobile devices.
And now, their new fancy GTX 2080 Ti graphics card is ready for the gaming community to take their gaming experience to the next level. One of the games that’s used to show what the card can do was Square Enix’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
And as we all know, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the most awaited installment in the franchise. For sure, those who play it in PC will certainly get their money’s worth since the game looks definitely stunning with Nvidia’s GTX 2080 Ti graphics card.

Devil May Cry 5
And during this year’s Gamescom, Capcom finally announced that Devil May Cry 5 release date is on March 8, 2019, via a new stylish DmC trailer released. Of course, the trailer also comes with a full-pack action the series is best known for.
In addition, it was also revealed that you can play as three characters in the game. These include Dante, Nero and an unknown newcomer in the game.
And mind you, this title isn’t messing around now that Dante can split his motorcycle in two and use it as his weapon. On the other hand, Nero is equipped with his Red Queen sword, his Blue Rose double-barreled revolver, and a new robotic arm with multiple functions.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced at E3 this year. However, CD Projekt Red showed the game behind closed doors. Unfortunately, fans did not get to see any gameplay or new footage for the game at this year’s Gamescom as well. But, we have some new screenshots and concept arts to check out for this game.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
A fantastical, dark, and twisted new gameplay experience awaits you in Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. It is developed by the notable dev team, From Software, and published by Activision. It is an action-adventure game combined with RPG elements. The game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and is played in a third-person perspective.
First announced during E3 2018, From Software surprised the fans of the upcoming game with the new gameplay trailer that was revealed during Gamescom 2018. According to the developer, the title will have a deeper focus on character progression and story.
Follow the role of the stone-heart warrior whose purpose is to save his master and seek vengeance on his arch rivalries. Check out the new gameplay trailer below.

Electronic Arts and DICE have released two trailers for their upcoming shooter, Battlefield V, at Gamescom 2018. EA and DICE shared quite a lot of fresh updates regarding Battlefield V’s customization options, progression systems, new maps, and a glimpse of its gameplay.
First, let’s talk about the customizations options news. In Battlefield V, you have plenty of ways to turn the battlefield to your favor. But first, you have to build your company. The company is your unit of soldiers, weapons, and vehicles with multiple customization options.
Playing as a squad is a key to achieve victory here in Battlefield V, so make sure to gather all the tools and gears that your team needs to win the battle.
Dress up your soldiers from top to bottom like a real combatant with the customization options of the game. But not only your character can achieve that look, but also your weapons.

【CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS TRAILER】
The next trailer below is another video released at Gamescom 2018 where new maps and gameplay of the game are featured. This trailer is titled, “Devastation of Rotterdam.” Players will battle against the Germans throughout the city streets as they strive to seize it.
Weapon up and work as a team with your company. Get ready to battle from the shattered streets of Rotterdam to the burning sands of North Africa. The rest of the trailer highlights more locations in the game that players can encounter during the battle. In addition, there are parts of the video that appears to be a sneak peek on a possible “Battlefield V’s” new battle royale mode.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Last but not the least, Nintendo’s most awaited game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo dropped a new trailer of the game at Gamescom 2018. The video shows off the new characters: Dark Samus, Ridley, Chrom, and Lucina. Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will certainly be the biggest game for Nintendo Switch this fall. And if you’re a fan of this game, you’ve probably placed this game already in your cart and got it pre-ordered.
