Ska Studios and Leadman Games will finally bring the 2D action role-playing video game in Team Nintendo Handheld consoles. The physical version of Salt and Sanctuary is coming to the Nintendo Switch this December 11th. However, Salt and Sanctuary’s physical release will have an exclusive edition entitled Drowned Tome Edition. It will set to release in North America retails. What are the inclusions of this edition? Fast fact: Did you know that Salt and Sanctuary is heavily inspired by the Souls series by Japanese developer FromSoftware? (Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, and Dark Souls III)

The game begins with a doomed sailor. He’s shipwrecked on an unknown island. However, this uncharted island is full of mossy corpses, shambling figures, and other unnecessary things to see. Beneath this island, there are labyrinths and secret passageways that might lead to the unspeakable evil.

The game features 2D hand-drawn visuals which it received positive reviews from various game critics. There are 600 items that you might use. Equip yourself with a wide variety of weapons, armor, accessories, and spells to make your own hero or worst, a villain. Survive the uncharted island with the series of difficulty in New Game Plus playthroughs. You must sacrifice your relics at your sanctuary to gain more access like merchants and mages and to unlock new abilities like weapon transmutation and fast travel. Plus, you are not alone in this journey. Multiplayer interactions are here. Leave their mark on each other’s journey through messages, shadows and other interactions available. You can also join your friend’s world for local co-op or versus mode.
