Unlike any other upcoming game that is being teased months or even years before its official launch, EA Inc. and Respawn Entertainment surprised everyone when they released their freshly baked game, Apex Legends. With no pre-launch news, no teasers and campaigns, publisher EA and developer Respawn Entertainment want players to go straight into the battleground and engage in their newly released game.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game made especially for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. And surprisingly, within the game’s eight-hour launch period, over one million unique players from all around the globe unite to fight in Apex Legend’s battlefield.

In fact, Vince Zampella, the studio’s CEO, was overwhelmed by the huge number of players and took on his Twitter account to express his gratitude for all the people who supported the game. You can check it out below.

And, in less than 24 hours, the game has reached a whopping 2 Million players!

So, what is the game all about?

Apex Legends is a squad-focused battle royale, set 30 years after Titanfall 2 in an area called the Outlands. You can choose from the selection of characters that you can customize according to your preference and has their own abilities that your team will eventually need to survive and win the game. In the beginning, all players will fall down from the sky and drop on the vast environment of the game.

Your goal is to collect loot, slaughter your enemies, and be the last man alive while running from an ever-closing wall of the red mist.

Moreover, here in Apex Legends, it is possible to respawn after you’ve died if you have a loyal friend that is willing to risk everything and run out into the treacherous open world and bring you back to life. Also, while the game is free-to-play, Apex Legends will feature loot boxes called Apex Packs, which is an in-game store where you can buy cosmetics, additional characters that can be bought using Apex coins or earned through gameplay, and a Battle Pass.

For clarification, Apex coin is the game’s currency which requires real money to make a purchase. And for you to do this, you need to have either PSN Cards for PS4 owners and of course, XBOX digital gift cards for Xbox family owners.
