Last time, the game publisher FuRyu released a Doraemon game based on the movie Doraemon: Nobita’s Treasure Island. Now, along with the upcoming Doraemon movie, FuRyu will bring Doraemon: Nobita’s Chronicle of the Moon Exploration or Doraemon: Nobita no Getsumen Tansaki (ドラえもん のび太の月面探査記) exclusively for Nintendo Switch this February 28th in Japan.
If you are not a huge fan of Doraemon, here’s a brief background on this franchise. Doraemon (ドラえもん) is one of the most popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fujiko F. Fujio. This is the pen name of the duo Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. In this manga, it revolves around on the famous robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in the 21st century to support a fifth grader named Nobita Nobi (野比 のび太). The series was first published in December 1969 with a total of 1,345 stories created. Now, this is one of the best-selling manga in the world along with One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Detective Conan and more.
Now, let’s go back to the game. According to Gematsu, this upcoming Doraemon game is a “moon cultivation adventure” game. This is a source from CoroCoro Comic. So, what’s the game is all about? Based on the upcoming movie with the same title, the fifth-grader protagonist Nobita sees the moon turned into color yellow. As he goes to school, he tells his classmates. However, his classmates find it funny. His robotic cat Doraemon gives him the “Doctrine Association Badge” as they both discover there’s life on the other side of the moon.
In Doraemon: Nobita no Getsumen Tansaki, you will build structures on the moon, grow plants and create a kingdom. As you build your own kingdom on the moon along with Doraemon and Nobita, your residents will also increase if you monitor it. You can choose to control Doraemon, Nobita, Gian, Suneo and Shizuka to roam around the area. Plus, there are various mini-games included such as racing, action, and puzzles for you to enjoy especially if you are a huge Doraemon fan.
