Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen

After Sony discontinued the production of PS Vita cartridges and ending certain online store support features together the console itself, a lot of the PS Vita fans were dismayed and utterly disappointed with the company’s decision. But, worry not though PS Vita fans, NIS America has something great to offer you to heal your broken souls.

Recently, NIS America announced that they will bring Aquaplus‘ visual novel, Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen, to the West on PlayStation 4 both digitally and physically and digitally for PS Vita in early 2020. More importantly, this game will feature Japanese voice overs and English subtitles.

Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is a remake of the original PC, PS2, and PSP that was never officially localized. Prelude to the Fallen will be the first official English release of the Utawarerumono origin story. In addition, this upcoming game tells the story events of the two sequels – Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth that was both published and released in the West by Atlus in 2017.

Game Overview

Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen centers on the life of the game’s protagonist, Hakuoro who lost his memory and becomes the ruler of the whole nation after being raised by a tribe of beastfolk in their world. Momentarily, Hakuoro finds himself in a race war and soon discovers plenty of mysteries about the world he lives in as well as the long lost secrets about his own self.
